This is a program to sponsor your parents and grandparents to become permanent residents of Canada.
2024 intake Closed
Starting May 21, 2024, we randomly invited potential sponsors who submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020 to apply for the 2024 intake.
We sent 35,700 invitations over the course of approximately 2 weeks. Our goal is to accept up to 20,500 complete applications.
The last day to apply was August 2, 2024. We’re no longer accepting applications for the 2024 intake.
If you were not invited to apply to sponsor your parents and grandparents
Your parents and grandparents may be eligible to apply for a super visa which lets them stay in Canada for 5 years at a time.
Parents and grandparents visiting on a super visa can also apply for 2-year extensions to their stay while they’re still in Canada.
Get an invitation to apply
We randomly select and invite potential sponsors who submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020 to apply to sponsor their parents and grandparents.
Don’t start filling out your application unless you’re invited to apply. You can only apply if you get an invitation. If you apply without being invited, we’ll return your application.

Apply online using the Permanent Residence Portal
If you’re invited to apply to sponsor your parents and grandparents, there are 2 applications:
You must apply to become a sponsor.
Your parents and grandparents must apply for permanent residence.
The principal applicant (the person you’re sponsoring) will submit both the sponsorship application and the permanent residence application online at the same time using the Permanent Residence (PR) Portal. If they’re using a paid representative, the paid representative will use the Representative Permanent Residence (PR) Portal.
If more than 1 parent or grandparent is applying on their own as a principal applicant, they must create their own portal account and submit their own application.

Sponsor your spouse, partner or dependent children
If you’re sponsoring your spouse or partner under the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in-Canada Class, they may be eligible for an open work permit. Find out how to apply.另外，配偶团聚已经不在要求担保的配偶和担保人必须在移民后居住满2年。
--如果自己是被夫妻团聚担保过来的，自己移民未满5年，如果自己之前担保过配偶，先配偶移民后未满3年，都不能作为担保人。配偶只需要满18周岁，且关系真实稳定即可申请。

Your child or the child of your spouse or common-law partner can be considered a dependent child if that child meets the requirements below on the day we receive your complete application:
They’re under 22 years old, and
They don’t have a spouse or common-law partner
Children 22 years old or older qualify as dependants if they meet both of these requirements:
They have depended on their parents for financial support since before the age of 22, and
They are unable to financially support themselves because of a mental or physical condition
With the exception of age, dependants must continue to meet these requirements until we finish processing your application.
If your child’s age was locked in on or before October 23, 2017, a previous definition of dependent children may apply.
Accompanying dependant:Any dependent child or dependant of a dependent child (grandchild) who plans to immigrate to Canada with the principal applicant. They are included on the application.
When sponsoring more than one child as a principal applicant, each child must have its own application form. They are not considered to be accompanying dependants of each other.
Non-accompanying dependant:Children who meet the definition of a dependent child but who are not immigrating to Canada along with the principal applicant. They must be listed on the principal applicant’s application for permanent residence and must be examined in order to process the principal applicant and remain eligible for sponsorship at a later date.
Sponsor your parents and grandparents
父母祖父母团聚移民项目申请要求如下：
1.担保人要求：
-担保人是加拿大公民、永久居民、加拿大印第安法案下的注册印第安人；
-担保人18周岁及以上；
-担保人居住在加拿大；
-担保人需要签署财务支持协议（3-20年）
-担保人家庭近3年及获签前的时间都满足加拿大最低收入要求（LICO+30%，如下）;
家庭人口的计算：包括担保人、担保人的配偶、担保人的孩子、父母/祖父母及他们的抚养人(all dependent family members of that person, whether or not they are accompanying)、其他已经担保中的人；
2.申请人要求：
-申请人是担保人的父母祖父母；
-申请人要完成体检，提供无犯罪文件；
NOTE:
1.你只可以担保你自己的父母/祖父母，你不能您配偶的父母/祖父母。如果居住在魁省，需要满足魁省的要求。如果因为身体残疾之外的原因在接受加拿大的救助，也不符合担保资格。

父母祖父母超级签证政策update（Parents and Grandparents Super Visa）
2022年7月4日起，加拿大父母祖父母超级签证，每次加拿大最长停留时间由2年延长到5年。目前加拿大境内的持有父母祖父母超级签证的人还可以选择申请延长他们在加拿大最多两年的逗留时间。这意味着目前加拿大境内的父母祖父母超级签证持有者现在可以在加拿大连续居留长达7年。People who currently have a Super Visa also have the option to request to extend their stay by up to two years while in Canada. This means current Super Visa holders will now be able to stay in Canada for up to seven consecutive years.
目前的父母祖父母超级签证可以在加拿大最多停留2年时间。是一个10年多次往返的临时签证。加拿大每年签发17000左右超级签证。超级签证是父母祖父母担保移民签证的另一个补充选择。由于每年20万的申请意向，但是只有2万左右的配额，因此超级签证成为父母祖父母担保移民的有力补充。
父母祖父母超级签证适用于通过体检并够爱了私人健康保险的申请人。这样申请人在加拿大可以获得急救健康服务，而不用加拿大纳税人支付。另外，担保人也必须满足最低收入要求。

you won’t live in Canada when you apply to sponsor your parents and grandparents and/or when your parents and grandparents become permanent residents Your primary residential address must be in Canada when you submit your application and until we make a decision on your application.
加拿大父母祖父母担保移民（immigration），需要担保人在移民申请之间（从提交到核准）都需要再加拿大境内，担保人的原始居住地址必须在加拿大境内。从需要提交的材料（比如三年税单等），也说明需要如此处理。
You must also:
apply for a super visa from outside Canada
have your visa printed outside Canada (wait for visa office instructions)
如果加拿大父母祖父母担保移民项目（immigration）不符合申请资格，转而申请加拿大父母祖父母超级签证（super visa），超级签证父母祖父母不能携带不独立的抚养人（dependants）（新新源移民），而父母祖父母担保移民项目是可以携带不独立的抚养人（dependants），比如亲生父母离婚后带的不独立的继父母、同父或同母的不独立的半兄弟姐妹、或者父母再婚后的不独立的继兄弟姐妹。只能担保自己的父母祖父母（亲生父母或者收养父母等），不能担保配偶的父母祖父母。
加拿大父母祖父母超级签证（super visa）官方明确要求，必须在加拿大境外（outside of Canada）申请，同时签证贴签（visa printed）必须在加拿大境外。
